Element Environmental aims to help clients find clear pathways through complex challenges. We do this through an honest, can-do, and positive approach which means that clients and stakeholders enjoy working with us, feel valued and feel that their project is in safe hands.
We are environment specialists here to make a difference for the people and the environment we live in. Our mission is to be a part of the solution to environmental challenges, and empower the people we work with to deliver change.
Building strong relationships and working through effective networks to achieve the best results for our clients is what we do. We understand that environmental management challenges are complex, and timeframes for finding solutions are tight. We know that a collective approach is vital, and that strong relationships and effective networks are the key to collectively solving these resource management challenges in a timely way.

Charlotte Wright - Director
Charlotte has extensive experience in natural resource policy development and implementation from strategic approaches through to pragmatic policy implementation at the grassroots level. She has led and delivered improved policy outcomes across the regional, primary and private sectors. Her aim is to ensure policy and on-the-ground action are connected to achieve efficient and effective solutions. Charlotte is a director of Element Environmental Ltd. Charlotte holds a Master of Science in Resource Management (Hons.).

Matt Highway - Director
Matt has worked in catchment, biodiversity, and land management for over 20 years. He has worked in regional council and for the primary sector, where he has developed multiple catchment and farm planning programmes. The key for Matt is to ensure efficient effective approaches that work from end to end and can endure in the long term. Matt is a director of Element Environmental Ltd, and currently also operates as the CEO of The New Zealand Association of Resource Management (NZARM). Matt holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science (Hons).

Elle Taylor - Environmental Planner
Elle’s background is in Agricultural Science (Hons); with 17+ years of experience working in sustainable dairying, including 6 years as a Managing Director in a dairy farm development. She enjoys project management, educational resource development, and seeking practical and pragmatic solutions to achieve outcomes. Elle holds a Post Grad. Dip. in Business and Administration and is currently completing a Master of Environmental Policy and Management.
Adrian Brocksopp - Environmental Consultant
18 years immersed directly in New Zealand agricultural industry has provided Adrian with a deep understanding of the future environmental challenges for farmers, landowners, and regulatory bodies. Having implemented New Zealand’s largest single Farm Environment Plan delivery project with the Upper Waikato Sustainable Milk project, Adrian has first-hand experience of the importance of matching capacity and capability to achieve meaningful changes in farmer behaviour and environmental performance at scale.
Kristen Froude - Environmental Consultant
Kristen graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Environmental Science from Massey University. She is currently a member of the Rowing New Zealand training squad, most recently representing NZ at the 2022 Rowing World Cups in the Women’s Quad, placing 8th in the world. She was a recipient of the Prime Ministers Internship Programme through High Performance Sport NZ. This has allowed her the opportunity to work with Element Environmental Ltd as an Environmental Consultant while also continuing to pursue her goal of racing at the Paris Olympics.
Eliza Burt-Priddy - Environmental Consultant/ Ecologist
Eliza has recently started at Element Environmental as an Environmental consultant. With an undergraduate background in Ecology and Biodiversity, Eliza has recently completed a Master of Conservation Biology from Victoria University of Wellington. Eliza's studies primarily focused on improving the socio-ecological relationship between society and the environment and species management projects. Eliza enjoys engaging with communities to produce effective and efficient solutions, with a clear passion for improving local biodiversity.
Dave Borgioli-Jones - Digital Strategist
Dave is Element’s digital marketing strategist with 20 years’ experience in the online space. His background is broad having worked in arts and entertainment, agriculture and local government. He has a keen interest in start-ups and taking brands to the next level. Setting up digital channels and creating tailored strategies for great customer experiences is his happy place.
Harriet Kemp - Environmental Consultant
Harriet joined Element in 2023 following several years’ experience in central Government in the conservation and regulatory space. Following an undergraduate Law degree and Master of Science in Rural Land Management completed in the UK, Harriet has a background in rural planning working with private clients across the English countryside. During this time Harriet enjoyed working on farm diversification projects and advising on development opportunities in sensitive locations. Harriet brings experience working with councils, landowners, developers, and technical professionals.
